Becoming a Hellerwork practitioner has been one of the most challenging, inspiring, and satisfying things that I have done. It has given me the opportunity to both discover myself and also to reach out and be of service to those people who feel like I can offer something to them.
For me Hellerwork is not just a bodywork therapy, it’s also a way of helping people rediscover and celebrate what it is to be alive and live in a fluid body. The rewards that come from a client leaving their old patterns of pain and emerging into a fuller version of themselves motivates me on many levels to constantly improve and connect with people.
Previously I played professional soccer so I had a basic understanding of human mechanics. I never really understood the emotional side of our bodies and how greatly this can affect people myself included. Our mind is not separated from our bodies but we choose to treat it this way leading to an unhealthy disassociation and in most cases deep levels of stored tension. This reintegration of the mind and body is probably the biggest lesson I have learnt through Hellerworks and one that I wish to share with you.
